🎨 you were only waiting for this moment to arrive
WHO: people!!
WHAT: arts festival
WHEN: late apr! forward dated a couple of days
WHERE: amberfall
WARNINGS: none for now!

Introduction
Welcome one and all toooooo the Titanic Dome!
This year's arts festival is a lot more ambitious than last year's, what with its giant venue that can house most of Ellipsa's population! Just like last year's, it is a festival by otherworlders for otherworlders, but it's definitely garnered a lot of attention that locals have come, too.
Despite it being a venue for fighting and combat and whatnot, the hallways that line the arenas are definitely prime areas for putting up booths and exhibits. Of course, the won't just be used for fighting this time around, too! It's definitely a creative way of using the venue. Granted, it's a little farther from the city as people do have to teleport to access the area, but what's a little adventure? Everyone is guaranteed safety here despite it being in the middle of two segments as there's security around, so even civilians and those local to Ellipsa have come to enjoy the festivities.
Everyone who participates is given a nice paper arm band like what people are made to put on in amusement parks. The bands aren't something everyone is required to wear, at least, and they can even stop by the booth nearby and decorate their arm bands! Show your support of your favourite fighter, or maybe you're a fan of one of the performers? Either way, it's definitely a good way to show you're on someone's side!
Food, Talents, and Exhibits
🎵 As otherworlders enter the dome, they'll be greeted with the sights of various booths and aromas of the bustling food stalls, some run by familiar faces you might know. Ayaka and Yoimiya have made sure there's plenty of food for visitors to eat while they walk around and partake in the festivities. From barbeque burgers and hotdogs to taco stands, to dumplings of all varieties, never-ending desserts and drinks, a plethora of goodies await those who are hungry. There's even a ramen food truck and for the more brave souls who wish to take on a challenge, featured on the menu is an appropriately named, devil's ramen. Nearby is a taiyaki ice cream stand for those who need to cool off their scorched tongues.
One of the main attractions is the talent showcased by the otherwordlers themselves. Strewn across the park are various stalls and art exhibits. A blacksmith booth with samples and sketches of all sorts of weapons is run by Jean. Works of art from Mary, Tau, Albedo, Kaeya, Jinhai, Rapunzel, and dioramas from Caster are featured. There are also other fun stalls such as magical face painting from Jinhai, and a crafts booth run by Rapunzel who is also giving out complimentary cupcakes. (While supplies last!) Come visit and have a chat with everyone while you admire their works if they happen to be around.
Inside the arena proper sits a dazzling stage stage for everyone to come watch the talents. Like last year, Ren Jinguji takes on the role of host, introducing everyone, hosting games, and even performing himself! All of the performers are stars in their own rights, showcasing their singing, acting, dancing, and instrumental capabilities. Pull up a chair or blanket, and come watch some showstopping performances! Everyone has worked so hard to make this a fun, joyous occasion.
Talent scouts, as well as other professionals native to Ellipsa, are present during the festival, as well. Any performers, if they do well? May end up being approached by these people at some point, and be given an opportunity to go big in the future!
Tournament
The schedule of festivities can be found via pamphlets and in various social media platforms. There are also screens around the dome that show what event is happening now and what event will happen soon!
The Flower Cup games all happen at the start of the tournament, on the first day. Each game is done one after the other, where contestants either line up on stage for the push-ups contest or down on the ground of the arena itself for the animal transformation race. These games serve as a warm-up for the audience to get their blood pumping and for their competitive spirits to light up!
After that, some talents are asked to come up on stage, whether it's a group acting a lighthearted romcom, playing the lyre, singing songs, or performing a "magic" show! Entertainment is at is finest–where so many forms of art come together to make people happy and inspire them. And after half of the talents that have signed up perform, Ren gets back on stage to announce that the Tournament is about to begin!
It's the Seasons Cup first before the Rainbow Cup, and it's towards nighttime that the Rainbow Cup actually happens. What's more, only the eliminations happen on the first day, creating so much hype and suspense for the following day.
Because of how big the tournament has become, many locals have even formed fanclubs of the participants. It hasn't even been a couple of hours, and there are already all kinds of merch of the participants that can be found in the various booths around the dome! Is that a body pillow cover of Hijikata?! Wait- is that E'kayan's face on a mug? Hang on! There are posters of Minato already?! People sure do work fast… There are even a bunch of very muscular men in speedos jogging around the arena come nighttime, all cheering for their Lovely Miss Yoimiya! People are going crazy for just about everybody who's come up on to fight, that much is for certain!
Come the second day of the festival though, more talents take the stage once more, some with their guitar, some with just their own equipment to sing and dance, and some to even eat a giant chicken! There are so many more acts prepared for the second day and everyone is hype for it! But what is more hype is the grand finale for the Seasons Cup and the Rainbow Cup.
Someone might have even rented a blimp just to drive a message by to cheer for Tartaglia! And let's not forget the one fan who's been distributing free bananas as a tribute to MK for the finals…
Of course, the participants do! Not! Disappoint! From day one until the last day of the festival, everyone has fought so well and has displayed so much showmanship. Right before dinner time, Ayaka comes on stage for the first time, introduces herself, and awards the champions and runner-ups with their trophy and a flower crown to wear. Prize money are credited to their accounts by the end of the week.
Before anyone can go, though…? There's still the closing ceremony to spectate!
Festival End
In Naganohara Yoimiya fashion, a festival is never complete without a barrage of fireworks. Together with Tartaglia, the two have prepared a dazzling light show to close off the festival with a bang. A series of fireworks representing each of the seasons start things off, pink sakura petals for spring, yellow suns for summer, red maple leaves for autumn, and blue snowflakes for winter. Next, star shaped meteors blitz across the sky, a representation of the otherwordlers who came from distant worlds. And last but certainly not least, the couple finishes off the show with a swarm of their signature mini goldfish and narwhals that swim around in the sky together until they explode into a beautiful array of orange and blue. Another exciting year for the Arts Festival has come to pass, one that is sure to be filled with fun memories.
Now that festivities have shimmered down, the organisers begin the clean up and the stall owners make their preparations to go home and close up. If you have some time to spare, feel free to lend a hand. The dome is still open to those who just want to wind down for the evening, various tables and chairs around the corridors for resting.
---
(( OOC: Thank you all for participating in the arts festival! The prompts are more general than they are specific, so please feel free to make up just about anything with regard to the various booths that one can find, as well as other things happening in the festival! Feel free to ask any questions here and I'll get to them as soon as I'm able! ))

Caster | Fate/Stay Night (UBW) | Summer (Avalon CRAU)
This is a little embarrassing... still, I did sign up for this, I suppose.
[Caster had decided against fighting. Although she was confident that she would be more than capable of holding her own with her overwhelming magic... she was tired. And fighting hurt.
Besides, she didn't have to battle so hard anymore, did she? Not for her wishes- or for a show like this- so she told herself she could afford to relax and take a step back.
It was for that reason that she'd got a stall set up for herself, and brought along a collection of home made dioramas- with a couple of bottled ships to round things out.
She'd set up a decent variety. From more Japanese inspired scenes like a zen garden or traditional shrine, to things a little closer to her homeland like the ruins of a Greek temple and something that was, perhaps, as close as she could get to an ancient palace from Colchis back in her time.
Not that she expected anyone to recognise that.]
...Well, I wonder what will come of this? If anyone teases me for such things I will be sure to curse them.
no subject
These are impressively detailed. Did you make them all by yourself?
no subject
[Compliments felt unfamiliar to her. All the more so from people who she'd not encountered before! She was glad for the hood of her cloak, it meant that she could hide the way her cheeks flushed.]
...It is a time-consuming process, but working on them helps me relax.
no subject
One of my brothers like to work with machines in much the same way. Are the designs things and places you've seen before?
Then I vanish off the face of the internet for a month or two oops
[Despite her lack of technological ability herself, Caster could certainly see a resemblance.]
...But yes, the dioramas are all places I have lived in the past. I wanted to try and somehow capture the essences of those places.
Perhaps it is partly a desire to reminisce, on my part.
That's how life works sometimes
no subject
[A pained smile came into the witch's face. How long had it been, since she had been able to see her homeland?]
But tell me about your brother's work. I admit I am curious.
no subject
I'm not good with machines, but he's able to build all sorts of machines. He even made a companion for himself--a penguin called Pers.

This stall had caught her eye the moment she came within view, not because she has a personal interest in diorama's, but because of the amount of skill and effort she could see had been put in, even from a distance. Now that she's closer she can see that she wasn't wrong, so she decides to remark...]
Don't let some idiot put you down over something you're passionate about. I've never made anything like this myself, but I can clearly see the amount of time and patience that went into each piece.
[It's rare for her to dole out more than a small handful of words at once, but she's genuinely impressed. Now, perhaps realizing that might have been a bit much coming from a stranger, she awkwardly tries to dial it back a bit, looking from Caster to the assembled display.]
... These two pieces are inspired by Japan, right? And this one is Greek? My sister's taught me a bit about it...
no subject
...It would not surprise me if people came to make a mockery of me regardless of how much care I put into them.
[Still, it seemed this person was at least familiar with her world, and she gave a nod.]
Yes, I lived in Japan for a little while...and Greece as well, so I thought I might try and capture the essence of those places. And this one here is inspired by C- by Ancient Georgia, where I was born.
Was your sister well travelled?
no subject
[She's been subjected to a lot of it in the past, so it's a touchy subject for her, something she can't stand watching others have to bear either. So while she generally avoids meddling... well, she overheard that and couldn't help herself.]
We've been to Japan before with our family, but that was a long time ago.
[Ancient Georgia, that's interesting, especially since she noticed that correction. Her eyes flicker briefly from the dioramas to Caster, but she doesn't call attention to it since the other woman seems to not want to dwell or explain. But didn't Mari say it used to be known as Colchis? Medea is one of the Greek figures she'd been most fascinated by, so she'd heard her talk about it a few times.]
Well... not exactly. Our situation was... not really ideal for travel. Everything she's learned has been from stories, books, other people's research, that sort of thing. But she really enjoys mythology as a personal hobby. I wish I could show her these...
[She's being VERY uncharacteristically chatty, but when it comes to family it's always a lot easier.
Still, Meilin takes a moment to give Caster a polite bow of greeting.]
Please excuse me for rambling. My name is Shen Meilin. It's a pleasure making your acquaintance, miss.
Today in; Caster is chronically homesick
[Hopefully it wouldn't come to that- cursing the attendees would probably not go down too well!
The Witch's own gaze lingered on the model of old Colchis whilst she spoke, not meeting the stranger's eyes. After all... Caster was someone who deeply missed her homeland, even now. How long had it been, since she had seen it last? It was long enough that she could only make an approximation, the little details in her memory warn away by time.
...She realised, then, that this person had introduced herself. And it was only after that the mention of mythology seemed to sink in. Well, in that case she would need to be careful, even if she wasn't as paranoidly protective of her True Name as she had been in the early days.]
There is plenty that can be learned from stories and legends... personally, I would rather that than to travel so far from home.
Regardless, it is a pleasure- [A little bow in turn.] -I go by 'Caster' here. Have you arrived recently?
Aw, Caster... :(
[It's said lightly, but she means it. Their family has quite enough to deal with regarding curses as it is.
She falls quiet after that, giving the other woman time enough to refocus on the conversation. She doesn't mind the introspection that seems to be happening, though she finds herself a little more curious...]
I agree. The past has many valuable lessons to teach, real or imagined.
[She's learned over the years that most legends lean more towards real than imagined to begin with, but that's another point for another time.]
Caster, then. Yes, I have, roughly two weeks ago now. Is it safe to guess that you've been here longer...?
Then I vanish off the face of the internet for a month or two oops
The past leaning more towards real than imagined was...well, that was certainly something she would agree to, if she cared to pursue that topic.]
It must have been, what, nine months now... there is rarely any rhyme or reason to when people are brought into or leave worlds like this.
no subject
Your work is splendid. This particular one reminds me of a place back in my home world that I was visiting right before arriving here. Were you inspired by somewhere back at home for this, or was it Sunwaning here that served as the template?
no subject
[Being complemented for her work would certainly take some getting used to- yes, they had taken a lot of work and time and care, but it was still strange! So she couldn't help her cheeks going a little red before she focused on the question-]
Somewhere back home, yes... I lived in a place called Fuyuki, in Japan, for a little while before coming here. But Sunwaning does remind me of that place.
...Where was it you were visiting?
no subject
[He points to the sand in the zen garden, beckoning her to look.]
There was a serene spot I really enjoyed visiting there, where the cherry blossoms fell freely all around you no matter where you stood. It was on a bridge that looked exactly like this, but instead of sand, a river flowed, taking the petals with it as it made its way through the entire city. I'm actually surprised you've been able to replicate it so well, despite having never been there.
Then I vanish off the face of the internet for a month oops
Inazuma... it sounds like a beautiful place. I hope you could at least spend some time peacefully there.
[It sounded that way, given how he talked about one of his favourite spots.]
If my diorama truly is that close to your memories of that place, then perhaps there truly are similarities across worlds, as you say.
...Fuyuki had a number of different little shrines and temples, a few of which had spots like this. Other places in Japan do, too, but I was busy. I never had as much time to stop and peacefully enjoy them as I would have liked.
I suppose... I was trying to claim a little of that back, here.
no subject
[Edmond does not look perturbed by her mutterings and simply happened to arrive at a good (bad?) time to hear them. His attention goes to one of the minature zen gardens and he gives it a close look, moving a hand close to it without touching.]
Did you make all of these? They're quite lovely.
Then I vanish off the face of the internet for a month oops
Hmph- well, if they were the sort inclined to mock me over such things, then I am better off without them.
[Still, the compliment calmed her prickly nature down rather quickly, a small smile crossing her features.]
Thank you...I did, yes.
It started off as just something to relax but it turned out to be quite the absorbing pastime.
I feel that tho
[His attention slides back to her wares and he leans down a little to look at them more closely.]
The craftmanship is really quite exquisite. How much are you selling them for?
It is a mood
I hadn't set fixed prices in particular, but I am open to negotiation on the matter, if you would be interested in buying one.
[It wasn't as if this was a business for her, but if people were willing to buy them, she certainly wasn't opposed to the idea!]
no subject
I would start with an offer of two hundred on this one.
[Bearing in mind material costs and time, it does not seem too unfair of a starting point.]
