Ah, the moments where he tested how much he can get away with, out of boredom mostly. It had felt appropriate in those moments. Now he was free to actually speak as cruelly as he wanted, if he felt like it. Unfortunately that made him less enthusiastic about doing it. The thrill of seeing if Dojima catches on wasn't there.

(It certainly wasn't because he liked Dojima enough to not be constantly cruel at him. Not at all)

Since the cat was out of the bag, Adachi just leans back, not caring about the meal in front of him right now. Not smiling at all, either. There was no point in that anymore.

"That never happened for me", Adachi says with a shrug. "I never got caught, thanks to certain someone lying to everyone."
