Marisa was in a strange place. She had gotten the official explanation, but she wanted to investigate things for herself. People lie all the time, after all, and this was CLEARLY one of the strangest incidents she’d been involved in. Even weirder than that thing with the moon! Aside from being lost in a strange world where, apparently, the seasons were very important, Marisa could already feel the influence of some foreign magic on her own power. She wasn’t going to mess with until she’d had time to figure out what was actually going on.
And, more importantly, who was behind it all. Once she had that sorted out, she was confident she could have everyone back where they belonged by dinner time.
Marisa’s incident resolution strategy worked like this:
-Step one: reconnaissance-
Marisa flew around Ellipsa on her broomstick, getting the lay of the land. She had never seen a city as big as this one, and every two minutes she’d fly down to street level to investigate it. For someone who grew up in a sort of edo period Japanese countryside, this could be juat anb anything. A bakery, a concert, a street lamp…whatever it was, it now had a young woman dressed like a witch from a fairytale floating over it while sitting on a broomstick so she could inspect it.
-Step two: baseless accusations-
Okay this certainly is an odd place, but Marisa was starting to get the feel for things. Now it was time to get to the bottom of things. This meant, in practical terms, looking around for anyone who was doing something weird, dressed in outlandish clothing, or who just generally stood out. Then she’d fly up to them and greet them politely.
Okay no what she actually said was, “Hey you! What are you up to?”
Even if thisinnocent victim suspicious person wasn’t involved, they might know who is.
-Step three: Resolve the incident-
After a lot of comedic misunderstandings and exciting chase scenes, Marisa reluctantly admitted that this situation was NOT going to be resolved quickly, so she decided to go with her backup plan, which was to find some place that served alcohol and get outrageously drunk.
