🎨 you were only waiting for this moment to arrive

WHO: people!!
WHAT: arts festival
WHEN: late apr! forward dated a couple of days
WHERE: amberfall
WARNINGS: none for now!

Introduction
Welcome one and all toooooo the Titanic Dome!

This year's arts festival is a lot more ambitious than last year's, what with its giant venue that can house most of Ellipsa's population! Just like last year's, it is a festival by otherworlders for otherworlders, but it's definitely garnered a lot of attention that locals have come, too.

Despite it being a venue for fighting and combat and whatnot, the hallways that line the arenas are definitely prime areas for putting up booths and exhibits. Of course, the won't just be used for fighting this time around, too! It's definitely a creative way of using the venue. Granted, it's a little farther from the city as people do have to teleport to access the area, but what's a little adventure? Everyone is guaranteed safety here despite it being in the middle of two segments as there's security around, so even civilians and those local to Ellipsa have come to enjoy the festivities.

Everyone who participates is given a nice paper arm band like what people are made to put on in amusement parks. The bands aren't something everyone is required to wear, at least, and they can even stop by the booth nearby and decorate their arm bands! Show your support of your favourite fighter, or maybe you're a fan of one of the performers? Either way, it's definitely a good way to show you're on someone's side!

Food, Talents, and Exhibits
🎵 As otherworlders enter the dome, they'll be greeted with the sights of various booths and aromas of the bustling food stalls, some run by familiar faces you might know. Ayaka and Yoimiya have made sure there's plenty of food for visitors to eat while they walk around and partake in the festivities. From barbeque burgers and hotdogs to taco stands, to dumplings of all varieties, never-ending desserts and drinks, a plethora of goodies await those who are hungry. There's even a ramen food truck and for the more brave souls who wish to take on a challenge, featured on the menu is an appropriately named, devil's ramen. Nearby is a taiyaki ice cream stand for those who need to cool off their scorched tongues.

One of the main attractions is the talent showcased by the otherwordlers themselves. Strewn across the park are various stalls and art exhibits. A blacksmith booth with samples and sketches of all sorts of weapons is run by Jean. Works of art from Mary, Tau, Albedo, Kaeya, Jinhai, Rapunzel, and dioramas from Caster are featured. There are also other fun stalls such as magical face painting from Jinhai, and a crafts booth run by Rapunzel who is also giving out complimentary cupcakes. (While supplies last!) Come visit and have a chat with everyone while you admire their works if they happen to be around.

Inside the arena proper sits a dazzling stage stage for everyone to come watch the talents. Like last year, Ren Jinguji takes on the role of host, introducing everyone, hosting games, and even performing himself! All of the performers are stars in their own rights, showcasing their singing, acting, dancing, and instrumental capabilities. Pull up a chair or blanket, and come watch some showstopping performances! Everyone has worked so hard to make this a fun, joyous occasion.

Talent scouts, as well as other professionals native to Ellipsa, are present during the festival, as well. Any performers, if they do well? May end up being approached by these people at some point, and be given an opportunity to go big in the future!

Tournament
The schedule of festivities can be found via pamphlets and in various social media platforms. There are also screens around the dome that show what event is happening now and what event will happen soon!

The Flower Cup games all happen at the start of the tournament, on the first day. Each game is done one after the other, where contestants either line up on stage for the push-ups contest or down on the ground of the arena itself for the animal transformation race. These games serve as a warm-up for the audience to get their blood pumping and for their competitive spirits to light up!

After that, some talents are asked to come up on stage, whether it's a group acting a lighthearted romcom, playing the lyre, singing songs, or performing a "magic" show! Entertainment is at is finest–where so many forms of art come together to make people happy and inspire them. And after half of the talents that have signed up perform, Ren gets back on stage to announce that the Tournament is about to begin!

It's the Seasons Cup first before the Rainbow Cup, and it's towards nighttime that the Rainbow Cup actually happens. What's more, only the eliminations happen on the first day, creating so much hype and suspense for the following day.

Because of how big the tournament has become, many locals have even formed fanclubs of the participants. It hasn't even been a couple of hours, and there are already all kinds of merch of the participants that can be found in the various booths around the dome! Is that a body pillow cover of Hijikata?! Wait- is that E'kayan's face on a mug? Hang on! There are posters of Minato already?! People sure do work fast… There are even a bunch of very muscular men in speedos jogging around the arena come nighttime, all cheering for their Lovely Miss Yoimiya! People are going crazy for just about everybody who's come up on to fight, that much is for certain!

Come the second day of the festival though, more talents take the stage once more, some with their guitar, some with just their own equipment to sing and dance, and some to even eat a giant chicken! There are so many more acts prepared for the second day and everyone is hype for it! But what is more hype is the grand finale for the Seasons Cup and the Rainbow Cup.

Someone might have even rented a blimp just to drive a message by to cheer for Tartaglia! And let's not forget the one fan who's been distributing free bananas as a tribute to MK for the finals…

Of course, the participants do! Not! Disappoint! From day one until the last day of the festival, everyone has fought so well and has displayed so much showmanship. Right before dinner time, Ayaka comes on stage for the first time, introduces herself, and awards the champions and runner-ups with their trophy and a flower crown to wear. Prize money are credited to their accounts by the end of the week.

Before anyone can go, though…? There's still the closing ceremony to spectate!

Festival End
In Naganohara Yoimiya fashion, a festival is never complete without a barrage of fireworks. Together with Tartaglia, the two have prepared a dazzling light show to close off the festival with a bang. A series of fireworks representing each of the seasons start things off, pink sakura petals for spring, yellow suns for summer, red maple leaves for autumn, and blue snowflakes for winter. Next, star shaped meteors blitz across the sky, a representation of the otherwordlers who came from distant worlds. And last but certainly not least, the couple finishes off the show with a swarm of their signature mini goldfish and narwhals that swim around in the sky together until they explode into a beautiful array of orange and blue. Another exciting year for the Arts Festival has come to pass, one that is sure to be filled with fun memories.

Now that festivities have shimmered down, the organisers begin the clean up and the stall owners make their preparations to go home and close up. If you have some time to spare, feel free to lend a hand. The dome is still open to those who just want to wind down for the evening, various tables and chairs around the corridors for resting.

(( OOC: Thank you all for participating in the arts festival! The prompts are more general than they are specific, so please feel free to make up just about anything with regard to the various booths that one can find, as well as other things happening in the festival! Feel free to ask any questions here and I'll get to them as soon as I'm able! ))

Oh, yeah, I did. This festival was even better than last year's.

[He says that with such a glum face...]

It was really well-organised, and the stage acts and booths were all great. Just, the tournament... well, I guess the tournament was fulminant too, it's just...

[He stares at his hands.]

I guess I'm getting old after all.
niwabi: (pic#16907955)

[personal profile] niwabi 2024-05-21 08:11 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Yoimiya listens to him with a big, bright smile, nodding along as he goes into detail about everything the festival had to offer. She's happy to hear he had fun but... it's the way he says it with such a gloomy face that has her worried.

Poor guy, getting on up there in the years must be getting to him and she can't blame him. Watching her once spritely dad grow older does make her worry. ]

Would it be rude if I asked how old you're turning? Because you certainly don't look old to me!

[ Just from his appearance, he barely looks older than Tartaglia in her eyes. ]

You still look like the fun Hijikata who loves mayo, knows how to burn down a ship, and can fight his way through a horde of skeleton pirates.
mayoninofukucho: (Enjoy it while it lasts!)

[personal profile] mayoninofukucho 2024-05-21 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
[That assessment does put a faint smile on his face. Honestly, it's sweet of her to sit and talk with him. She doesn't need to do that after she's worked her ass off to make the festival a success, all the less when he's being such a downer!]

Aren't you a charmer?

[No wonder Tartaglia's smitten for her. This smile could thaw up the Winter Segment.]

I should be turning twenty-seven, but... I may have lost track of a few years while adventuring across the multiverse.

[Seriously, what is the truth?! He legitimately isn't sure if he's aging out here or not! If he were back home, it wouldn't be happening, but the kids - Jean and Mukuro and Shoto - are visibly turning from teens to adults, so how could he alone be unaffected?]

It may not sound like the end of the world, but in my line of work, the cut-off age isn't high at all. I guess instead of Christmas cakes, we're like New Year's Eve fireworks.

[Is he making sense? Yeah, right?]
niwabi: (pic#16361100)

[personal profile] niwabi 2024-05-22 12:52 am (UTC)(link)
[ What a sweet compliment! Yoimiya's smile grows brighter and warmer, eating up the praise like an excited puppy wagging her tail. ]

Aw, shucks! I was only speaking the truth.

Only 27? [ Ish??? Multiverse is confusing but Hijikata still looks like a spring chick to her. ] You've still got plenty of spark! You're not much older than Tartaglia.

[ Bless you for that analogy Hijikata, when he explains it like that, it makes perfect sense in her head. Just hearing the word 'fireworks' paints a perfect picture. Just like her precious fireworks that blow up and shimmer down, excitable youngsters in Hijikata's workforce come in like an explosion, only to slow down with age. ]

Oh, I see! I take it you're in the kind of line of work that's physically straining?
mayoninofukucho: (Happy)

[personal profile] mayoninofukucho 2024-05-22 01:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah... well, that's part of it.

[The rest is just hard to explain to non-4th-wall-breakers. Yoimiya will hardly be able to compute that Shounen Jump readers are mostly kids and young adults who don't want to read about old fucks over 30! As such, he'll stick to the comprehensive side of things.]

A samurai fights until he drops, and I've always been planning to do exactly that, but here, where we can't even die for good, it's a lot more embarrassing to get your ass kicked again and again. If I'm not strong anymore, but still survive by merit of the environment, it feels like I'm overstaying my welcome.

[It's not like he wants to die, but racking up losses - which is surely bound to happen now - is mortifying enough to make him want to commit seppuku! What if he returns home and the other men of the Shinsengumi find grey hair on him? He already stood in front of the mirror meticulously searching for wrinkles, but what if he just can't see them because he sees his face every day and doesn't notice tiny changes???]
niwabi: (pic#16907988)

[personal profile] niwabi 2024-05-23 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
[ GOODNESS... Gintama sounds wild. Learning about Shounen Jump and the 4th wall will probably be the thing that finally renders Yoimiya speechless for the first time in her life. ]

Oh! From that awesome swordsmanship I saw during our quest, I should have realized that you're a samurai. How cool!

[ Hijikata must have fit in perfectly from his not-quite-isekai adventures in Inazuma. And now with this information, it makes perfect sense why he's feeling glum about his birthday. The way of the samurai is a challenging road, not only does one have to consider their physical health, but losing battle after battle sounds like fate that's worse than death for samurais. Even the brightest of fighting spirits would get worn get over time. ]

I see now. For samurais, winning and losing duels really is everything for y'all. [ It's not a lifestyle she agrees with but it's one she can respect having grown up in Inazuma. ] Must be tough thinking about that when it feels like your pride is at stake.
mayoninofukucho: (Some things stay the same.)

[personal profile] mayoninofukucho 2024-05-23 03:45 pm (UTC)(link)
[He did fit in perfectly in that long dream-or-not-dream - he was a loyal samurai to the Raiden Shogun! His smile turns a little proud at first, then more wistful.]

Yeah, you get it. Maybe it's my turn to become just a mentor for the younger generations... but I don't feel ready for that yet.

[He still has so much adventuring spirit in him!]
niwabi: (pic#16275048)

[personal profile] niwabi 2024-05-23 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sure you'd be a great teacher for the youngsters but, I don't think you should give up your dreams.

[ Just from what Yoimiya's seen of him, she can tell Hijikata's still got so much he wants to accomplish. It'd be a shame if he didn't, she'd like nothing more than to see him go on those grand adventures and live out his dreams. ]

Age is just a number as far as I'm concerned. Plus, I've seen you in action! You've still got that spark burning within you and it'd be a shame to see it fade. Whatever it is you want to accomplish, you should do it!

[ Don't think too hard! Just have fun with it! Is Yoimiya's way of life... which has definitely gotten her in trouble in more ways than one. ]
mayoninofukucho: (I'm just sitting here.)

[personal profile] mayoninofukucho 2024-05-23 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
[He exhales smoke from what remains of his cigarettes. It's remarkable, really, how much her words are uplifting him from his despondent state.]

Dreams... honestly, my dream is just to live by the sword until the end. So I guess what I really want is to return to my world after saving this one while still being able to call myself a samurai.

[He tilts his head back, watching the smoke dissipate in the night sky above them.]

I guess I should start by kicking Jean's ass a half-dozen times to show him that I've still got it.

[It won't be the same as doing it in a tournament with thousands of people watching, but at least he and Jean will know, and isn't that the most important thing? (Of course, the desolation will catch up with him on his birthday, but right now, he feels a little more spirited than before!)]
niwabi: (pic#15954474)

[personal profile] niwabi 2024-05-24 02:29 pm (UTC)(link)
[ As the smoke from his cigarette evaporates into the night sky, Yoimiya can tell that his mood has perked up. Seeing anyone down in the dumps is hard to watch, especially someone she considers a friend, and if her words helped in any way, then she's happy to have brightened someone's day. ]

A fitting dream for a cool samurai that's gonna kick lots of butt!

[ Oh that's right... poor Hijikata went up against Jean and lost. It was an exciting match from start to finish, seeing both of her pals going head to head was a blast. But as someone who also lost in the first match, she understands and completely gets you, buddy.

🤝 ]

You got this! I'm sure you learned a lot in your fight with Jean, so if you apply that, you might be able to give him a give him a run for his mora.

[ SORRY JEAN, YOU'RE A GREAT PAL. SHE'S NOT ROOTING AGAINST YOU... SHE'S ROOTING FOR BOTH OF YOU. (if that makes sense hiosahg) ]</small.
mayoninofukucho: (New Hope)

[personal profile] mayoninofukucho 2024-05-24 05:25 pm (UTC)(link)
[He shakes his head, albeit smiling.]

I didn't learn much in the duel at all. I already knew everything from training and questing with Jean and others beforehand. He simply caught me by surprise, and he got lucky at it, too.

[Come to think, though... he really isn't the only one here who lost his match. He may feel like his loss was the most egregious one in the entire tournament, given that his and Jean's face-off was the very opener round, without even a "parallel" fight, but nevertheless Yoimiya was unable to advance too, and unlike him, she isn't being a melodramatic crybaby about it! It's about time that he acknowledged her good sportsmanship, all the more because of who her adversary was.]

It was hard for me to watch your match, you know? I spoke with Tartaglia about it before, how hard it'd be for me to not be able to cheer for you... but Shoto's my mentee, and he really needed to hear my voice cheering him on.

[He doesn't need to apologise, he knows. He doesn't need to explain, either - how Shoto was drilled into shape from early childhood on, how his strict father was impossible to satisfy, how much he latched on to his new, self-chosen mentor Hijikata -, but he at least wants to tell Yoimiya that she fought well (like a hypocrite, because of course he doesn't think the same about himself).]

You were so fast, it was amazing to see you darting around, especially when his attacks are so large in scope.

[His student created entire walls of ice or fire in an instant, filling the whole arena, yet Yoimiya still popped up again with a counterattack, like a nimble goldfish holding its ground against a double-powered enemy. It was impressive to behold, and all spectators were enthralled - he's not exaggerating!]

He was a gentleman about it afterwards, I hope?

[He trusts the boy, quiet and unemotive as he may be, to have good manners in a tournament, all the more when his opponent is a lady!]
niwabi: (pic#16270719)

[personal profile] niwabi 2024-05-25 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
No hard feelings at all! A mentee is important and if I were in your shoes, that's who I would be cheering for too. I'm sure Shoto is glad he has such a caring mentor looking out for him.

[ If the positions were reversed and he was fighting Tartaglia, she'd throw in all of her support for the person she holds the most dear and Yoimiya has no doubts Hijikata will also understand. Hearing Tartaglia's voice in the audience fueled her determination and for Shoto, she wonders if his mentor's voice sparked his desire to win as well, and thinking about that warms her heart.

Ah yes, praise!! As if her smile can't grow any wider, Hijikata's words of encouragement pull the corners of her lips into a bright, warm grin. Shoto was one of the strongest opponents she has ever faced, Yoimiya will never forget how incredible the kid was at using the power of frost and flames to his advantage. Seeing Shoto create walls of fire and ice was nothing short of awesome and she had a blast thinking of ways to counter attack.

There's no doubt, Tartaglia is going to have the time of his life fighting that kid. ]

He was! I had a great time fighting him and would have a rematch in a heartbeat. It's also a reminder I need to work harder if I want to become a better fighter but that's what training is for.

[ She's made considerable progress since coming to Ellipsa but her fight with Shoto is a good eye-opener to always strive for greater heights. ]
mayoninofukucho: (Satisfied)

[personal profile] mayoninofukucho 2024-05-26 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
[She couldn't be more gracious, and seeing her beam like the sun softens Hijikata's smile further. They don't know it yet, but Tartaglia will do a fine job avenging her, all while showing Shoto some inspiring new techniques!]

Back home, fighting isn't your day job, right?

[Everyone in Inazuma knows her family's fireworks, but she is a Vision holder, so he doesn't want to jump to conclusions by assuming that she only ever fights in case of monster encounters (which, honestly, would already be more than the average civilian ever does)!]

For someone who doesn't have combat as her bread and butter, you're in amazing shape already. It's just... well, honestly, my Shoto's long past the point where he needs even my guidance anymore.

[The boy was already much more powerful than him when he first met him on Avalon, but he supposes that he was able to teach him the art of swordmanship, along with some life lessons - now, though, Shoto's mastered everything he could teach him. Hijikata doesn't tell him, obvious as it may be, because the boy wants to stay by his side, but it's yet another sign of him being past his prime, isn't it? (Or maybe he just needs to stop picking up superpowered teenagers.)]
niwabi: (pic#16907961)

[personal profile] niwabi 2024-05-27 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
That's right! Back home, I stayed pretty busy taking care of my parents, the shop, crafting new fireworks, playing with the local kids, looking after my pet goldfish... [ Okay Yoimiya, spare Hijikata's ears. You don't have to list out everything you do in a day. ] that I never thought about serious training. I learned how to fight so I can use my vision to its fullest potential and protect those that need it. And after coming to Ellipsa, I realized that I still have a ways to go and that I truly do want to become stronger.

[ She wants to be someone worthy of the pyro Vision that was bestowed to her by the gods, the stronger she gets, the more smiles she can protect. While she won't say this part out loud, she also wants to make Tartaglia proud and become a woman strong enough to fight by his side. ]

Hearing from you feels like an honor! Thank you. I'll continue to work hard so that maybe I can become a more worthy opponent for Shoto in the future, haha.

[ NOT HER ALREADY FORMULATING PLANS TO BUG HIM FOR A REMATCH... ]

Shoto's strength is on a whole new level, isn't it? He seems like he's got endless potential and I have a feeling he's only going to get stronger. But even so, I'm sure he'll always see you as a mentor who taught him well and will still want to stay by your side.

[ Yoimiya doesn't know Shoto well enough to make a full judgment on his character but if she were in his shoes, she'd never want to leave her teacher either Even after her father taught her everything she needed to know about fireworks, she continues to stick by him. And if that's the case, she believes Hijikata's still got plenty of fire within him as well... and maybe he is a magnet for superpowered teenagers. ]
mayoninofukucho: (Mission Complete)

[personal profile] mayoninofukucho 2024-05-27 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
[His expression softens further as he listens to her. She's an integral part of her community back home (and here, too), that much is clear. Her family, friends and neighbours must all regard her as their sunshine. You're a lucky guy, Tartaglia.]

...

I guess in the end, it doesn't only matter if we can learn from each other. It's important, for sure, and every new encounter does teach us something - for one, even if Shoto's already stronger than both of us combined, his match against you taught him how to keep up with a new unfamiliar fighting style -, but ultimately, we still care about people even if they've got nothing left to impart on us, hm?

[Congratulations, Hijikata, you learned to see yourself through the same lens you see others through! He for sure can't learn anything new from his rough-and-tumble Shinsengumi comrades back home anymore, but hell if he doesn't want to spend the rest of his life in Edo with them. If that's alright, and if his mental image of Yoimiya surrounded by her loved ones is such a happy one, then why should he fret over his own student not wanting to move on to a more promising teacher?]

I guess it's most important to have a place to belong.

[Not everyone needs to be a combatant to begin with, but even combatants need a home where they can feel welcome and wanted.]

[ With a nod of her head and a hum, the smile on Yoimiya's face softens as she listens to him. Wise words well spoken, Hijikata! Growing old is inevitable, everyone ages at some point (WELL except for those darn gods and other immortal beings >:T) but for a samurai, time is especially of the essence, she can empathize as someone who has been drilled with the Inazuman way of life. But even so, the considerable shift in tone from the gloomy talk about birthdays warms her heart.

More importantly, she's happy to see that smile back on Hijikata's face. He looks considerably more perky than when she ran into him. ]

You're exactly right! Even if Shoto becomes the strongest person to ever walk the face of the planet, I'm sure his experience with you will always have a special place in his heart, and no matter what, he'll always see you as his mentor.

[ It's a lesson that can also be applied to Yoimiya herself. She's determined to grow stronger but eventually, there too will come a time when she and Tartaglia grow old. Even so, the time they spent together will always hold a special place in her heart, far more than riches, fame, or power. ]

Yeah, I know that some people come from less-than-ideal worlds. So I hope for them, this place provides them with that sense of belonging.

[ Going back home is also inevitable but for the time being, she hopes everyone can enjoy Ellipsa for as long as they can. ]

[SERIOUSLY those damn thousands-of-years-old eternally young deities etc..!! Alas, being jealous won't help matters, and mortals like them do have enough to be happy about even with their finite life spans - namely all the good memories they've made, as she said.]

I'm sure that Ellipsa already has become a home to those from worse-off worlds. It's been that way on all the worlds I visited.

[He burns the stubby remains of his cigarettes to ashes with his fire magic and lets them disperse in the breeze, then he gets up from his seat and offers Yoimiya a hand.]

Thanks for talking sense into me, Yoimiya. If I let myself get down in the dumps like that over a loss, I'll only worry Shoto and everyone else. A samurai always gets back on his feet and fights on! Let's do our best to get stronger, but let's not forget the most important things.

[After all, he's been there before as a boy - single-mindedly wanting to get stronger and stronger, with no real aim or goal driving him except the regret of not having been strong enough before. That wasn't a good way of living.]
niwabi: (pic#16270732)

[personal profile] niwabi 2024-05-29 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
[ COULDN'T HAVE SAID IT ANY BETTER MYSELF. DAMN THOSE THOUSAND-YEAR OLD ETERNAL YOUNG LOOKING GODS, DEITIES, ETC!!!

With her heart flooded with relief and a smile, she takes the hand Hijikata graciously offers her and hops out of the stadium seat. ]

Oh, it was nothing! Thank you for allowing me to talk your ear off. If I was able to cheer you up even a little bit then I feel like I've done my due diligence as your skeleton pirate exterminating pal, hehe.

[ And in turn, Hijikata's words have also lit a fire in her heart. More than ever, she feels all the more determined to overcome her shortcomings and get stronger while she's able to. Their conversation was a reminder that life is short and while her body is still able and willing, she needs to seize every opportunity while she still has the chance. It's a good reality check for her. ]

Spoken like an honorable samurai! Thank you again, Hijikata. I feel like my fighting spirit has been rejuvenated after talking with you. We're both gonna get stronger and show the world how much we've improved. And maybe even one day, you'll get your revenge against Jean!

[ ONCE AGAIN SHE IS SO SORRY JEAN. YOU ARE A GREAT PAL!! ]
mayoninofukucho: (Thanks for that.)

[personal profile] mayoninofukucho 2024-05-29 02:20 pm (UTC)(link)
[He grins a little - they are skeleton pirate exterminating pals! - and squeezes her hand before letting go.]

Hah, I'll kick Jean's ass the next time we train already. I tell you, he just got lucky!

[Jean did showcase skill and good thinking in managing to catch him by surprise, and they're generally pretty on par with each other, he's just being a jackass!

Before he and Yoimiya part ways, he wants to tell her one more thing:]

Your fireworks were masterful again this year. Tartaglia added a nice touch, too. You guys are good collaborators.
niwabi: (pic#16275044)

[personal profile] niwabi 2024-05-30 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Yoimiya giggles, happy to see that Hijikata is back to his feisty self and ready to kick some Jean butt! From her point of view, and they exchanged blows on such an even playing ground, the victor could have gone to either one of them. Kind of sounds like he's still got a bit of a sore spot but she'll keep that thought to herself. ]

Oh! Thank you! Tartaglia was a huge help. He's been working hard to perfect the art of fireworks and has come a long way. Pretty sure he'll be able to make them without my help at this rate.

[ Suddenly, Yoimiya is struck with a giggling fit. Oh... it will be so mean to share this story with one of his buddies but she can't help herself. Before they part ways for the evening, she has to share this little tidbit about Hijikata's pal. ]

Hehe, last time we did a show, he came close to launching a firework at the poor guests who were watching the show. But practice makes perfect! [ even if it involves horrifying screams from guests ] On top of that, he's just so talented, so he's gonna have it down in no time.
mayoninofukucho: (Happy)

[He's got his spunk back for now, but soon enough, his birthday crisis will kick in... still, at least he's in higher spirits again right now! The thought of battle-happy Tartaglia learning the old art of firework creation, much as Yoimiya is honing her combat skills to fight by his side, makes him smile yet again. You two really want to share each other's passions, hm?]

Are you sure that was just an accident? Or did he want to mix the company up a little?

[Again he's only joking - much as the Harbinger seems to enjoy chaos, he surely woulnd't ruin his partner's business event on purpose! Or would he?]

[ Oh goodness, even as a joke, Tartaglia's penchant for getting into trouble surely has earned in a reputation in Ellipsa. His response earns a hearty laugh out of the chipper blonde, Hijikata knows his chaos incarnate friend very well. ]

Oh, it was an accident. We were both just as started when we realized what happened.

[ A beat. ]

... I think. Probably. [ more flat pauses ] Maybe. ... Hopefully?

[ Yoimiya is quiet for a few seconds before busting out into a giggling fit, she's totally joking as well. Sorry boyfriend wherever you are. ]

[He laughs as well - sorry, Tartaglia, but that's your reputation!! All in all, his mood is much-lifted. He bows to Yoimiya, lower than he usually would - he really is grateful to her.]

I shouldn't keep you any longer, with the moon so high in the sky already. After all, who knows what he'll get up to if you leave him alone for too long?

Yeah, that's true. He's probably causing trouble right now as we speak.

[ Or sneezing. Or sneezing while stirring up a whirlwind of chaos.

She smiles at his gracious bow. What a gentleman! He doesn't have to do that, especially since she was speaking straight from the heart but as an Inazuman, the gesture is sweet. ]

Thank you for today, Hijikata. I had a great time chatting with you. Have a wonderful evening and get some good rest.

[ Flashing him one last beam, she sends him off with a friendly wave and heads off into the darkness. There's never a dull moment with Hijikata, she always finds herself feeling extra energized after conversing with him. As they part ways, she's happy to leave with the knowledge that he's feeling better... while still wondering how he was able to smoke three cigarettes at once. That will always be a mystery to her. ]
