🎨 you were only waiting for this moment to arrive
WHO: people!!
WHAT: arts festival
WHEN: late apr! forward dated a couple of days
WHERE: amberfall
WARNINGS: none for now!

Introduction
Welcome one and all toooooo the Titanic Dome!
This year's arts festival is a lot more ambitious than last year's, what with its giant venue that can house most of Ellipsa's population! Just like last year's, it is a festival by otherworlders for otherworlders, but it's definitely garnered a lot of attention that locals have come, too.
Despite it being a venue for fighting and combat and whatnot, the hallways that line the arenas are definitely prime areas for putting up booths and exhibits. Of course, the won't just be used for fighting this time around, too! It's definitely a creative way of using the venue. Granted, it's a little farther from the city as people do have to teleport to access the area, but what's a little adventure? Everyone is guaranteed safety here despite it being in the middle of two segments as there's security around, so even civilians and those local to Ellipsa have come to enjoy the festivities.
Everyone who participates is given a nice paper arm band like what people are made to put on in amusement parks. The bands aren't something everyone is required to wear, at least, and they can even stop by the booth nearby and decorate their arm bands! Show your support of your favourite fighter, or maybe you're a fan of one of the performers? Either way, it's definitely a good way to show you're on someone's side!
Food, Talents, and Exhibits
🎵 As otherworlders enter the dome, they'll be greeted with the sights of various booths and aromas of the bustling food stalls, some run by familiar faces you might know. Ayaka and Yoimiya have made sure there's plenty of food for visitors to eat while they walk around and partake in the festivities. From barbeque burgers and hotdogs to taco stands, to dumplings of all varieties, never-ending desserts and drinks, a plethora of goodies await those who are hungry. There's even a ramen food truck and for the more brave souls who wish to take on a challenge, featured on the menu is an appropriately named, devil's ramen. Nearby is a taiyaki ice cream stand for those who need to cool off their scorched tongues.
One of the main attractions is the talent showcased by the otherwordlers themselves. Strewn across the park are various stalls and art exhibits. A blacksmith booth with samples and sketches of all sorts of weapons is run by Jean. Works of art from Mary, Tau, Albedo, Kaeya, Jinhai, Rapunzel, and dioramas from Caster are featured. There are also other fun stalls such as magical face painting from Jinhai, and a crafts booth run by Rapunzel who is also giving out complimentary cupcakes. (While supplies last!) Come visit and have a chat with everyone while you admire their works if they happen to be around.
Inside the arena proper sits a dazzling stage stage for everyone to come watch the talents. Like last year, Ren Jinguji takes on the role of host, introducing everyone, hosting games, and even performing himself! All of the performers are stars in their own rights, showcasing their singing, acting, dancing, and instrumental capabilities. Pull up a chair or blanket, and come watch some showstopping performances! Everyone has worked so hard to make this a fun, joyous occasion.
Talent scouts, as well as other professionals native to Ellipsa, are present during the festival, as well. Any performers, if they do well? May end up being approached by these people at some point, and be given an opportunity to go big in the future!
Tournament
The schedule of festivities can be found via pamphlets and in various social media platforms. There are also screens around the dome that show what event is happening now and what event will happen soon!
The Flower Cup games all happen at the start of the tournament, on the first day. Each game is done one after the other, where contestants either line up on stage for the push-ups contest or down on the ground of the arena itself for the animal transformation race. These games serve as a warm-up for the audience to get their blood pumping and for their competitive spirits to light up!
After that, some talents are asked to come up on stage, whether it's a group acting a lighthearted romcom, playing the lyre, singing songs, or performing a "magic" show! Entertainment is at is finest–where so many forms of art come together to make people happy and inspire them. And after half of the talents that have signed up perform, Ren gets back on stage to announce that the Tournament is about to begin!
It's the Seasons Cup first before the Rainbow Cup, and it's towards nighttime that the Rainbow Cup actually happens. What's more, only the eliminations happen on the first day, creating so much hype and suspense for the following day.
Because of how big the tournament has become, many locals have even formed fanclubs of the participants. It hasn't even been a couple of hours, and there are already all kinds of merch of the participants that can be found in the various booths around the dome! Is that a body pillow cover of Hijikata?! Wait- is that E'kayan's face on a mug? Hang on! There are posters of Minato already?! People sure do work fast… There are even a bunch of very muscular men in speedos jogging around the arena come nighttime, all cheering for their Lovely Miss Yoimiya! People are going crazy for just about everybody who's come up on to fight, that much is for certain!
Come the second day of the festival though, more talents take the stage once more, some with their guitar, some with just their own equipment to sing and dance, and some to even eat a giant chicken! There are so many more acts prepared for the second day and everyone is hype for it! But what is more hype is the grand finale for the Seasons Cup and the Rainbow Cup.
Someone might have even rented a blimp just to drive a message by to cheer for Tartaglia! And let's not forget the one fan who's been distributing free bananas as a tribute to MK for the finals…
Of course, the participants do! Not! Disappoint! From day one until the last day of the festival, everyone has fought so well and has displayed so much showmanship. Right before dinner time, Ayaka comes on stage for the first time, introduces herself, and awards the champions and runner-ups with their trophy and a flower crown to wear. Prize money are credited to their accounts by the end of the week.
Before anyone can go, though…? There's still the closing ceremony to spectate!
Festival End
In Naganohara Yoimiya fashion, a festival is never complete without a barrage of fireworks. Together with Tartaglia, the two have prepared a dazzling light show to close off the festival with a bang. A series of fireworks representing each of the seasons start things off, pink sakura petals for spring, yellow suns for summer, red maple leaves for autumn, and blue snowflakes for winter. Next, star shaped meteors blitz across the sky, a representation of the otherwordlers who came from distant worlds. And last but certainly not least, the couple finishes off the show with a swarm of their signature mini goldfish and narwhals that swim around in the sky together until they explode into a beautiful array of orange and blue. Another exciting year for the Arts Festival has come to pass, one that is sure to be filled with fun memories.
Now that festivities have shimmered down, the organisers begin the clean up and the stall owners make their preparations to go home and close up. If you have some time to spare, feel free to lend a hand. The dome is still open to those who just want to wind down for the evening, various tables and chairs around the corridors for resting.
---
(( OOC: Thank you all for participating in the arts festival! The prompts are more general than they are specific, so please feel free to make up just about anything with regard to the various booths that one can find, as well as other things happening in the festival! Feel free to ask any questions here and I'll get to them as soon as I'm able! ))

[ She wants to be someone worthy of the pyro Vision that was bestowed to her by the gods, the stronger she gets, the more smiles she can protect. While she won't say this part out loud, she also wants to make Tartaglia proud and become a woman strong enough to fight by his side. ]
Hearing from you feels like an honor! Thank you. I'll continue to work hard so that maybe I can become a more worthy opponent for Shoto in the future, haha.
[ NOT HER ALREADY FORMULATING PLANS TO BUG HIM FOR A REMATCH... ]
Shoto's strength is on a whole new level, isn't it? He seems like he's got endless potential and I have a feeling he's only going to get stronger. But even so, I'm sure he'll always see you as a mentor who taught him well and will still want to stay by your side.
[ Yoimiya doesn't know Shoto well enough to make a full judgment on his character but if she were in his shoes, she'd never want to leave her teacher either Even after her father taught her everything she needed to know about fireworks, she continues to stick by him. And if that's the case, she believes Hijikata's still got plenty of fire within him as well... and maybe he is a magnet for superpowered teenagers. ]

...
I guess in the end, it doesn't only matter if we can learn from each other. It's important, for sure, and every new encounter does teach us something - for one, even if Shoto's already stronger than both of us combined, his match against you taught him how to keep up with a new unfamiliar fighting style -, but ultimately, we still care about people even if they've got nothing left to impart on us, hm?
[Congratulations, Hijikata, you learned to see yourself through the same lens you see others through! He for sure can't learn anything new from his rough-and-tumble Shinsengumi comrades back home anymore, but hell if he doesn't want to spend the rest of his life in Edo with them. If that's alright, and if his mental image of Yoimiya surrounded by her loved ones is such a happy one, then why should he fret over his own student not wanting to move on to a more promising teacher?]
I guess it's most important to have a place to belong.
[Not everyone needs to be a combatant to begin with, but even combatants need a home where they can feel welcome and wanted.]

More importantly, she's happy to see that smile back on Hijikata's face. He looks considerably more perky than when she ran into him. ]
You're exactly right! Even if Shoto becomes the strongest person to ever walk the face of the planet, I'm sure his experience with you will always have a special place in his heart, and no matter what, he'll always see you as his mentor.
[ It's a lesson that can also be applied to Yoimiya herself. She's determined to grow stronger but eventually, there too will come a time when she and Tartaglia grow old. Even so, the time they spent together will always hold a special place in her heart, far more than riches, fame, or power. ]
Yeah, I know that some people come from less-than-ideal worlds. So I hope for them, this place provides them with that sense of belonging.
[ Going back home is also inevitable but for the time being, she hopes everyone can enjoy Ellipsa for as long as they can. ]

I'm sure that Ellipsa already has become a home to those from worse-off worlds. It's been that way on all the worlds I visited.
[He burns the stubby remains of his cigarettes to ashes with his fire magic and lets them disperse in the breeze, then he gets up from his seat and offers Yoimiya a hand.]
Thanks for talking sense into me, Yoimiya. If I let myself get down in the dumps like that over a loss, I'll only worry Shoto and everyone else. A samurai always gets back on his feet and fights on! Let's do our best to get stronger, but let's not forget the most important things.
[After all, he's been there before as a boy - single-mindedly wanting to get stronger and stronger, with no real aim or goal driving him except the regret of not having been strong enough before. That wasn't a good way of living.]
no subject
With her heart flooded with relief and a smile, she takes the hand Hijikata graciously offers her and hops out of the stadium seat. ]
Oh, it was nothing! Thank you for allowing me to talk your ear off. If I was able to cheer you up even a little bit then I feel like I've done my due diligence as your skeleton pirate exterminating pal, hehe.
[ And in turn, Hijikata's words have also lit a fire in her heart. More than ever, she feels all the more determined to overcome her shortcomings and get stronger while she's able to. Their conversation was a reminder that life is short and while her body is still able and willing, she needs to seize every opportunity while she still has the chance. It's a good reality check for her. ]
Spoken like an honorable samurai! Thank you again, Hijikata. I feel like my fighting spirit has been rejuvenated after talking with you. We're both gonna get stronger and show the world how much we've improved. And maybe even one day, you'll get your revenge against Jean!
[ ONCE AGAIN SHE IS SO SORRY JEAN. YOU ARE A GREAT PAL!! ]
no subject
Hah, I'll kick Jean's ass the next time we train already. I tell you, he just got lucky!
[Jean did showcase skill and good thinking in managing to catch him by surprise, and they're generally pretty on par with each other, he's just being a jackass!
Before he and Yoimiya part ways, he wants to tell her one more thing:]
Your fireworks were masterful again this year. Tartaglia added a nice touch, too. You guys are good collaborators.
no subject
Oh! Thank you! Tartaglia was a huge help. He's been working hard to perfect the art of fireworks and has come a long way. Pretty sure he'll be able to make them without my help at this rate.
[ Suddenly, Yoimiya is struck with a giggling fit. Oh... it will be so mean to share this story with one of his buddies but she can't help herself. Before they part ways for the evening, she has to share this little tidbit about Hijikata's pal. ]
Hehe, last time we did a show, he came close to launching a firework at the poor guests who were watching the show. But practice makes perfect! [ even if it involves horrifying screams from guests ] On top of that, he's just so talented, so he's gonna have it down in no time.
no subject
Are you sure that was just an accident? Or did he want to mix the company up a little?
[Again he's only joking - much as the Harbinger seems to enjoy chaos, he surely woulnd't ruin his partner's business event on purpose! Or would he?]
no subject
Oh, it was an accident. We were both just as started when we realized what happened.
[ A beat. ]
... I think. Probably. [ more flat pauses ] Maybe. ... Hopefully?
[ Yoimiya is quiet for a few seconds before busting out into a giggling fit, she's totally joking as well. Sorry boyfriend wherever you are. ]
NOT HERE LOL
no subject
I shouldn't keep you any longer, with the moon so high in the sky already. After all, who knows what he'll get up to if you leave him alone for too long?
no subject
[ Or sneezing. Or sneezing while stirring up a whirlwind of chaos.
She smiles at his gracious bow. What a gentleman! He doesn't have to do that, especially since she was speaking straight from the heart but as an Inazuman, the gesture is sweet. ]
Thank you for today, Hijikata. I had a great time chatting with you. Have a wonderful evening and get some good rest.
[ Flashing him one last beam, she sends him off with a friendly wave and heads off into the darkness. There's never a dull moment with Hijikata, she always finds herself feeling extra energized after conversing with him. As they part ways, she's happy to leave with the knowledge that he's feeling better... while still wondering how he was able to smoke three cigarettes at once. That will always be a mystery to her. ]

All in all, it was a beautiful festival. Whenever the next one rolls around, he'll sign himself up again!]
