🎨 you were only waiting for this moment to arrive
WHO: people!!
WHAT: arts festival
WHEN: late apr! forward dated a couple of days
WHERE: amberfall
WARNINGS: none for now!

Introduction
Welcome one and all toooooo the Titanic Dome!
This year's arts festival is a lot more ambitious than last year's, what with its giant venue that can house most of Ellipsa's population! Just like last year's, it is a festival by otherworlders for otherworlders, but it's definitely garnered a lot of attention that locals have come, too.
Despite it being a venue for fighting and combat and whatnot, the hallways that line the arenas are definitely prime areas for putting up booths and exhibits. Of course, the won't just be used for fighting this time around, too! It's definitely a creative way of using the venue. Granted, it's a little farther from the city as people do have to teleport to access the area, but what's a little adventure? Everyone is guaranteed safety here despite it being in the middle of two segments as there's security around, so even civilians and those local to Ellipsa have come to enjoy the festivities.
Everyone who participates is given a nice paper arm band like what people are made to put on in amusement parks. The bands aren't something everyone is required to wear, at least, and they can even stop by the booth nearby and decorate their arm bands! Show your support of your favourite fighter, or maybe you're a fan of one of the performers? Either way, it's definitely a good way to show you're on someone's side!
Food, Talents, and Exhibits
🎵 As otherworlders enter the dome, they'll be greeted with the sights of various booths and aromas of the bustling food stalls, some run by familiar faces you might know. Ayaka and Yoimiya have made sure there's plenty of food for visitors to eat while they walk around and partake in the festivities. From barbeque burgers and hotdogs to taco stands, to dumplings of all varieties, never-ending desserts and drinks, a plethora of goodies await those who are hungry. There's even a ramen food truck and for the more brave souls who wish to take on a challenge, featured on the menu is an appropriately named, devil's ramen. Nearby is a taiyaki ice cream stand for those who need to cool off their scorched tongues.
One of the main attractions is the talent showcased by the otherwordlers themselves. Strewn across the park are various stalls and art exhibits. A blacksmith booth with samples and sketches of all sorts of weapons is run by Jean. Works of art from Mary, Tau, Albedo, Kaeya, Jinhai, Rapunzel, and dioramas from Caster are featured. There are also other fun stalls such as magical face painting from Jinhai, and a crafts booth run by Rapunzel who is also giving out complimentary cupcakes. (While supplies last!) Come visit and have a chat with everyone while you admire their works if they happen to be around.
Inside the arena proper sits a dazzling stage stage for everyone to come watch the talents. Like last year, Ren Jinguji takes on the role of host, introducing everyone, hosting games, and even performing himself! All of the performers are stars in their own rights, showcasing their singing, acting, dancing, and instrumental capabilities. Pull up a chair or blanket, and come watch some showstopping performances! Everyone has worked so hard to make this a fun, joyous occasion.
Talent scouts, as well as other professionals native to Ellipsa, are present during the festival, as well. Any performers, if they do well? May end up being approached by these people at some point, and be given an opportunity to go big in the future!
Tournament
The schedule of festivities can be found via pamphlets and in various social media platforms. There are also screens around the dome that show what event is happening now and what event will happen soon!
The Flower Cup games all happen at the start of the tournament, on the first day. Each game is done one after the other, where contestants either line up on stage for the push-ups contest or down on the ground of the arena itself for the animal transformation race. These games serve as a warm-up for the audience to get their blood pumping and for their competitive spirits to light up!
After that, some talents are asked to come up on stage, whether it's a group acting a lighthearted romcom, playing the lyre, singing songs, or performing a "magic" show! Entertainment is at is finest–where so many forms of art come together to make people happy and inspire them. And after half of the talents that have signed up perform, Ren gets back on stage to announce that the Tournament is about to begin!
It's the Seasons Cup first before the Rainbow Cup, and it's towards nighttime that the Rainbow Cup actually happens. What's more, only the eliminations happen on the first day, creating so much hype and suspense for the following day.
Because of how big the tournament has become, many locals have even formed fanclubs of the participants. It hasn't even been a couple of hours, and there are already all kinds of merch of the participants that can be found in the various booths around the dome! Is that a body pillow cover of Hijikata?! Wait- is that E'kayan's face on a mug? Hang on! There are posters of Minato already?! People sure do work fast… There are even a bunch of very muscular men in speedos jogging around the arena come nighttime, all cheering for their Lovely Miss Yoimiya! People are going crazy for just about everybody who's come up on to fight, that much is for certain!
Come the second day of the festival though, more talents take the stage once more, some with their guitar, some with just their own equipment to sing and dance, and some to even eat a giant chicken! There are so many more acts prepared for the second day and everyone is hype for it! But what is more hype is the grand finale for the Seasons Cup and the Rainbow Cup.
Someone might have even rented a blimp just to drive a message by to cheer for Tartaglia! And let's not forget the one fan who's been distributing free bananas as a tribute to MK for the finals…
Of course, the participants do! Not! Disappoint! From day one until the last day of the festival, everyone has fought so well and has displayed so much showmanship. Right before dinner time, Ayaka comes on stage for the first time, introduces herself, and awards the champions and runner-ups with their trophy and a flower crown to wear. Prize money are credited to their accounts by the end of the week.
Before anyone can go, though…? There's still the closing ceremony to spectate!
Festival End
In Naganohara Yoimiya fashion, a festival is never complete without a barrage of fireworks. Together with Tartaglia, the two have prepared a dazzling light show to close off the festival with a bang. A series of fireworks representing each of the seasons start things off, pink sakura petals for spring, yellow suns for summer, red maple leaves for autumn, and blue snowflakes for winter. Next, star shaped meteors blitz across the sky, a representation of the otherwordlers who came from distant worlds. And last but certainly not least, the couple finishes off the show with a swarm of their signature mini goldfish and narwhals that swim around in the sky together until they explode into a beautiful array of orange and blue. Another exciting year for the Arts Festival has come to pass, one that is sure to be filled with fun memories.
Now that festivities have shimmered down, the organisers begin the clean up and the stall owners make their preparations to go home and close up. If you have some time to spare, feel free to lend a hand. The dome is still open to those who just want to wind down for the evening, various tables and chairs around the corridors for resting.
---
(( OOC: Thank you all for participating in the arts festival! The prompts are more general than they are specific, so please feel free to make up just about anything with regard to the various booths that one can find, as well as other things happening in the festival! Feel free to ask any questions here and I'll get to them as soon as I'm able! ))

Though, it seems like Jinwoo's beat him to the punch on the question he was absolutely already thinking of asking, giving him a boyish grin as he laughs.]
Haha, well, you know I can't pass up an opportunity to test my strength against strong opponents. I'm willing to hear out what kind of restrictions there would be to this fight- I just hope your shadow is willing as well.
[Having already learned he can't really kill a shadow anyway, that really shouldn't be a big deal, he thinks. He's assuming Jinwoo is more concerned with Beru killing him, but it's not like he doesn't enjoy fights to the death so...]
Perhaps it might be helpful if we got to know each other first? Friends tend to avoid seriously injuring or killing each other, after all.
no subject
Their shenanigans helped to keep him grounded, even when he felt removed from other humans.
Back to the present moment, though. Childe has the right of it, exactly. Beru wouldn't mean to disobey a direct order, but just like the other soldiers couldn't override the instinct to follow the queen, there were some things about Beru's nature that were simply too ingrained to ignore.
When Childe makes that suggestion at first Jinwoo just stares, blinks, and then laughs shortly. He can't help it, it's just- It reminds him of a conversation when he first arrived and posted on the network. Leave it to Childe to find out the nature of the shadows and STILL want to get to know them like a regular person. Evangeline had given up when he mentioned that they were simply like summons, but honestly... of all of them, Beru was the most suitable for the task. He was able to speak, at least, and here other people would actually be able to understand him no matter what language he used.]
Yeah, sure. You two will probably get along great, honestly. Which should probably be a little concerning...
[He's teasing again. With a drier smile Jinwoo moves right along past that-]
But I'm afraid it won't be that simple. Beru's got ideas about predators and prey, and the natural order. If he gets too carried away he won't stop. So my condition is pretty simple: I'm allowed to step in if things get carried away, specifically on Beru's side.
2/2 (SURPRISE)
But before we can get to that you should probably finish buying your smut.
[Jinwoo you LITTLE SHI-]
no subject
And the conditions for the fight? Perfectly a-ok with him. Childe doesn't even show a hint of resistance for that, he knows that Jinwoo has a good understanding of how strong he is and how Beru will act in the heat of battle. As long as he gets to fight him, then-]
Wha- hey!
[He was all in his happy place for a second there, and Jinwoo had to go and RUIN IT]
This is hardly mine-! Well, yes, it's of me, but I've no interest in...! Aw, c'mon...
[Cue Tartaglia's face flushing a bright red now, exasperated and defeated. Who made this stuff anyway????]
no subject
Sure, sure.
[Isn't he so nice, pretending to believe you? Ha ha, this is with whom you've chosen to lay your platonic affection, Childe. R.I.P.]
Does that mean you're done browsing?
[Asked with a barely, barely concealed grin.]
no subject
Yeah, I'm done...
[He'd like to be done forever now, please and thank you]
I hope you had your fun, c'mon, we're getting out of here. Another moment spent around these is one more than I would have ever liked to of wasted with something like this...
[He won't even say what it is, he'd just like to suppress the knowledge of there being whole ass comics about him getting railed by tentacles alfjaldjf]
no subject
Come on. I'll introduce you to Beru and some of the others to take your mind off it. We just need to find a space with enough room and no attendees. Wouldn't want to freak anybody out.
no subject
He only got ribbed a little about it though, so since it's just a small emotional bruise, he'll be okay.]
Are you sure? I think if the attendees were going to get scared, they would have already just from the tournament.
[He's scary! Man...what's a guy gotta do around here to be feared?]
Annnnnnd Jeju Island spoilers!
But more than that he just really doesn't want to come tomorrow and find there's BERU PORN. He would NOT recover. Mentally. Emotionally. Psychically. Physically...
Yeah man sorry Tartaglia at this point there is nothing left that frightens him. That emotion was one of the first to die.
Jinwoo is kind of quiet as they go, but if Childe wants to fill the brief silence he'll respond. They wont have to go far as it turns out. Far enough away that they wont have spectators, close enough that the event crowd is still audible.]
Here should be good.
no subject
Anything I should know before you let him out?
[Is he going to surprise attack him? Is he so grotesque that he might get a little sick? Does he smell bad?]
no subject
Don't ask him to smile. Also... you don't have a problem with bugs, do you?
[If so this was about to be really unfortunate.]
no subject
No...not generally...
[Is this gunna be some Men In Black bug stuff]
no subject
Jinwoo nods. He senses the confusion, or consternation, but doesnt comment on it. Instead, as before, he summons one of the shadows from the multitude. It materializes from the ground and quickly takes the shape of a large, groteque looking bipedal ant with a human body. It stands several heads taller than both of them, and its mandibles are more pronounced.
When it opens its glowing eyes it looks over at Childe and squints... but first-
Turns to Jinwoo and kneels down with one fist on the ground, its claws curling in to form an approximation of one anyway.]
My liege!
[Jinwoo looks... he just... already looks so done. In the calmest and most passive way possible. In front of Childe too, really?]
Tartaglia, this is Beru. Beru, this is the one I told you about. Be polite.
[Beru looks at Childe again, but doesn't stand until Jinwoo utters a quiet- "Stand up already." With more of that really passive resignation. This is just how he is. Its fine.]
no subject
Oh.
Oh. Okay. He really didn't know what the Korean period dramas were anyway, but this is similar to his own world. He's a diplomat, and as much as he doesn't like going this route, he knows how to behave with someone like this. So the best way to deal with this, and stay within the confines of Jinwoo's wishes so he can fight Beru is...
to LARP, obviously.]
It's an honor to meet you, Beru.
[He holds a hand over his chest and bows, as one would with exchanging the proper courtesies like when meeting the Qixing, for example.]
My name is Tartaglia. I'm number eleven of the Fatui Harbingers, an envoy of Her Majesty, the Tsaritsa of Snezhnaya. It's a pleasure.
THE WAY I CACKLED
[Tartaglia NO.
Okay. Jinwoo's not ACTUALLY upset by this turn of events. This is actually quite the brilliant way to quickly potentially get on Beru's good side! It's just... Beru is going to double down now and he can already feel himself internally cringing.
For now he's simply burying his face behind one hand as this plays out. Fatui Harbingers? Her Majesty? Tsaritsa of Snezhnaya?? He's pretty sure there's at least some truth in this but has NO IDEA what most of those words mean within the context of that sentence structure. All he knows is that Tartaglia is playing right into Beru's whims and-]
!!!
[-and Beru is eating it up. The ant, standing now, seems to be processing this information, his antennae waving about slowly in the air, mandibles slowly working a bit as he processes... and arrives at the conclusion that this human is showing the appropriate level of respect, so as long as he doesn't have eyes on his King's right side...! But who is this Tsaritsa? She's not better than his liege!!! Also. ELEVENTH. Then there are ten others above him!
I'm so sorry for this weird ant Childe.]As expected of my liege! Has she sent you to request an audience with my King?
[Subconsciously- or consciously -he's starting to put off quite a bit of pressure, but Jinwoo puts a stop to it with a light command.]
Nope. Let's not start that.
[Beru deflates just a tiny bit.] But my liege-!
[Jinwoo just sighs, not exactly helpless, but clearly used to this.]
First of all, we're friends. [Probably.] Don't talk down to him. He wants to get to know you so you two can fight later.
This... Fatui Harbinger, Tartaglia, has agreed to a duel?
[Jinwoo simply nods. Beru looks... confused. And nervous. Maybe anxious?? Can an ant look anxious?? His non-existent eyebrows are certainly furrowing.]
How does one "get to know" another?
[Jinwoo looks at Tartaglia at that. That's your cue, buddy. Yeah, Tartaglia? How are you gonna go about it?]
:3
There's quite a few ways you can do it. I prefer to get to know my new comrades by testing their blade against my own. Jinwoo's already told me a little bit about you, so I know that your belief lines up with my own- that this world is for the strong.
[He spreads his hands out in front of him until they come back into a shrug- the unfortunate part of this all is that this isn't probably how that's going to go right now.]
But as it stands, this dome is currently being used for the festival, so we'll have to postpone our duel for another day. Instead, I'd like to propose something else.
[He jerks his thumb back towards the direction of the festival proper, with plans to ruin Jinwoo's efforts to keep Beru away from the festival goers.]
Want to go find some festival games to play? I can't think of anything better to do while spending time with someone.
WOOOOOW. WOW. Betrayal.
He can sense Tartaglia's sincerity, and in response to hearing his proclamation Beru's eyes squint, his mandibles clicking together in consideration.]
What an interesting human my liege has befriended.
[But none of that is what sends the fine hairs on Jinwoo's arms to stand on end.
It's THIS part-
Want to go find some festival games to play? I can't think of anything better to do while spending time with someone.
Before he can even interject with a firm NO, Beru is giving him THAT LOOK. He's not incapable of saying no, but he knows that Beru has been pretty distraught after learning that he'd been here without most of the Shadow Army (and him, specifically) for a month. If it helps him to stop fretting about it for a while...
Besides, Beru has been curious about the human world for a long time now, ever since he'd been designated Jinah's guard. This could be a good chance for him to learn more about human culture.
Jinwoo just stares back at him, and then slowly looks at Tartaglia. His expression is exasperated. THAT WAS DIRTY, BRO.]
Fine... But if anyone freaks out, we're done.
I shall be on my best behavior, my liege!
TEEHEE KEK
Now, he's got to show Beru a good time, and he's got a plan. Sorry, not sorry bro, but don't worry. ( • ̀ω•́ )✧]
Excellent! Then it's settled. We'll show Beru a great time around the festival, and he'll be on his best behavior. I saw a good game to start out with, if the two of you will follow me.
[This man, with no hesitation and the full confidence of a guy who's having a plan come together perfectly, turns to lead the two towards their first activity. He won't allow Jinwoo the time to refuse or have second thoughts, as he leads them to an apple bobbing game that he knows was being played nearby.]
One BILLION years later. This notif kept getting pushed I'm sorry!
Beru seems to be quite curious indeed, and after one more giddy (?!) look at Jinwoo, makes to follow after Childe, Jinwoo trailing behind them with a resigned sigh.
They really ARE getting quite a few stares, but Jinwoo decides there's no use in making even more of a fuss about it by trying to explain or cover things up. He just follows the two and keeps Beru on track.]
I hope you understand what you've just signed up for.
[He says to Tartaglia, arching an eyebrow, especially when he notices the apple bobbing game. He sees where this is going and he's... just going to discreetly check to make sure there aren't any kids or easily startled elderly people around.]
