[Open Log] A New World Fool
WHO: Adachi & You
WHAT: Adachi's arrival, touring the city, etc
WHEN: January 9th
WHERE: Nightwake
WARNINGS: Adachi(s general attitude that won't usually show outside, but does come out in flavor text. Basically he hates everything all the time and uses foul language and is an overall douche. Mostly in his mind for now.
Note: Opt-out, for those who would rather opt out completely from tagging with him. Feel free to use prose or [brackets], I will match.
Outside the Apartment Building
After waking up in a very cold place, being transported into a random room with strangers and being told he was summoned here to 'save the world', Adachi spent a good time in his new room cursing his situation (and wondering why his room had a tote bag full of cabbages out of all things). Things were going well for him. No one suspected a thing and no one could pin the blame on him anymore, thanks to a certain someone.
Yet here he was. In some random ass world that needed to be saved. They couldn't have chosen a poorer saviour than him, for sure. He'd rather watch the world burn.
Though who knows, maybe this place would turn out more interesting than the reality he had to endure. They did talk something about powers. While Adachi already had those, more power was always nice.
Now that he was properly dressed and had his gun with him, Adachi was outside, trying to figure out where to go from here. If he was stuck here, he might as well try and get to know the place, no matter how bothersome it sounded.
"Let's see... didn't this thing have a map on it?" He's browsing his phone to find the map of the city. Maybe something there would catch his attention.
Dining
Adachi ends up in a place resembles a lot like Aiya. Maybe it was the familiarity or the fact that they also sell alcohol with the food. Either way, the food is at least decent and he can get a little more familiar with the people here.
So far, people seemed the same. A little more technologically advanced and actually aware of magic, but he wasn't that impressed with the world yet. Just adding more technology and magic wasn't going to fix what was essentially a boring reality.
How many of the people drinking in this restaurant were filled with desperation because they lacked talent? Honestly, why else would they get drunk in a chinese restaurant. The service certainly wasn't it.
Either way, these were all important observations. Look at him, actually doing a detective job, in a way.
Splash
Eventually he get curious about these so called powers and decides to give them a little spin. It ends up with him getting soaked in water, looking like he was hit with a personal rain shower. Swinging a splash of water upwards might not have been the wisest choice.
"Great. At least it's a warm weather."
Good thing he came to try them in Dayrise coliseum and not in Frostreign where "his" guild supposedly was.

this logthe day."That was what I was trying to do, but it seems I'm not talented enough yet", he says, voice neutral and a little (fake) embarrassed.

"You ever deal with reality defying phenomenon before now? That could explain it if you're sheltered and normal," Evil Morty said, still with that monotone and detached tone.
no subject
Well, it was mostly true. It wasn't until he discovered his powers that he actually started enjoying life a little bit.
"Got any tips for a total beginner?"
no subject
"Find a focus that works for you. Some way to use your powers that make sense in your mind. Like some magic or powers you watched on TV or something. Think of the science if that helps you figure it out. How would something you're familiar with float the water? Think of it like that and make it happen."

He thinks about something that he's seen floating in the Inaba River on his way home from work, or during late night patrols. Leaves, random trash bags someone lost to the wind. All poetic sights to some. To him they were a prison made out of boredom.
A prison he wanted to escape from. He uses this motivation to bring a bubble of power to life and floats it in the air.
"Huh. That really did work!"
no subject
"There you go. Just work with it like that. And if you like studying, the Amberfall Library has books on the subject of magic. You can learn more about how it works if that helps at all. Up to you."
Morty punctuates his point by throwing his fire star into the bubble of water and causing it to explode into steam that flies up into the air, free of form.

The talk of books makes him huff a little. He remembers the days he spent studying while everyone else had fun. Choosing books over friends. Where did that get him? Into a boring town in the countryside, just because of a mistake. He had it him - absorbing information through books.
But he didn't feel like going back to that now. The Adachi who tried to please his parents first and then secure a good job was gone. And he didn't even get a real gun.
"I think I prefer the more practical way of learning."
He's aware that he's not holding very tightly onto his facade, but that's the magic of making him think about stuff that sours his mood, really. He'd get back to it, eventually.
no subject
"I prefer practical learning methods too. Some people put too much stock in books only. Experience is just as good a teacher, if not better."
no subject
The he laughs, returning back to his more carefree persona. "Or that's what I think anyway."
