Flower Yard - Locked to LMK cast
Waking up in the Flower Yard was...well it was weird. Even not being himself at the time, Wukong recalled what happened. The portal, sending MK and Red Son through because they were just children, the portal closing. Looks like they weren't kidding about the fact that if you got stuck you died.

The large colorful hibiscus flower tipped forward, slipping him out of it before he could dwell too much and he brushed himself off before looking around. There wasn't really any reason to stick around in this reverse graveyard, and being dead hadn't entirely settled in his mind yet. But he had the nagging feeling that things were just okay. He should head back to Blossomcrown and make sure things are okay.

"Weeeeeell...if that happens, you won't let me forget. You'll bring me back ASAP and you'll be my best bud until you succeed."

Wukong started to purr, not ready to let MK go either. He was honestly just relieved that his student was physically unharmed, the image of the Jade Emperor still looming in the back of his mind. That could have been so much worse than it had been.

MK nodded. He would do everything he could.

"I'd stuff your mouth full of peppers and hit you with a rock, if I had to," MK said. Though not too big a rock. Especially if Monkey King could die here. Oh. Oh there was the sorrow again. He clung to Monkey King tighter. The purring helped. He just stayed close with Monkey King, not ready to pull away yet.

That mental image was something Wukong couldn't help but laugh at, considering that exact combo gave and solved his original amnesia...and the thought of MK's energy levels with doing that was just a funny picture. He flopped back with a content sigh, not minding that it meant MK was basically cuddling his chest from on top of him.

"I'm glad I have you looking out for me."

"I'll always be here to look out for you, if I can help it," MK said softly. He laid his head on Wukong's chest and closed his eyes. He didn't want to move and had no nervousness about this. He could hear Monkey King's heart and that was the best sound in the world right now. He chirped softly as his eyes slid closed.

"Heh, that's supposed to be my job, MK."

Wukong just held MK close, wanting to reassure him and enjoying how close they could be. He chirped in response and looked down at him. "We're going to have to leave eventually, Bud. But I'm not too keen on doing it riiight now."

"We can look after each other. You need it too," MK countered without lifting his head up. He knew they'd have to go. Staying here was not an option.

"Just five more minutes?" He asked and snuggled close. Just enough time to make sure this was real. That he wasn't dreaming.

"You should see Macaque. I think he'd be happy to see you. Even if he doesn't admit it."

Surprisingly, Wukong's pride wasn't wounded by the idea he might need looking after too. Instead he was just touched by MK's continuing determination to keep them close. He sighed and ruffled MK's hair, resting his hand on the young hero's back. "Yeah, we'll look after each other."

The request for five more minutes made him laugh, but the mention of Macaque was sobering.

"He'll find me when he's ready. Even I can't keep track of him if he doesn't want to be found."

MK just nodded. They would look after each other. Mk didn't want to lose his mentor. Never again.

"That makes sense. I just think he'd be glad to see you. You could call him, you know. If he doesn't turn up and is being a stubborn monkey." That was the last push Mk would do. He chirped and just snuggled for that five minutes. Then finally he got up.

"Okay. Let's go home."

Wukong chuckled and pushed himself to his feet. He was about to agree, but sensed a familiar presence. "I'll catch up in a bit, Bud. I think I'm needed here for just a bit longer." He gave MK's shoulder a squeeze. "You going to be okay until I meet you at the castle?

MK didn't feel the presence. Still, if he would meet up again. The sudden change did make him think Wukong realized something.

"Yeah. Just text me when you're on your way, okay?" So I know you're safe.

"Sure thing, Bud. I'll see you soon."

Wukong gave him the warmest smile he could manage, meaning it, but still processing. "Thanks again for being here to welcome me back."
