1 Out of 10 Wouldn't Recommend
WHO: Wukong, existing CR
WHAT: Returning from death and processing
WHEN: December 5th
WHERE:The Summer flower yard, but mostly around Blossomcrown
WARNINGS:Lots of grief, relief, and musing on death and relationships.
Flower Yard - Locked to LMK cast
Waking up in the Flower Yard was...well it was weird. Even not being himself at the time, Wukong recalled what happened. The portal, sending MK and Red Son through because they were just children, the portal closing. Looks like they weren't kidding about the fact that if you got stuck you died.
The large colorful hibiscus flower tipped forward, slipping him out of it before he could dwell too much and he brushed himself off before looking around. There wasn't really any reason to stick around in this reverse graveyard, and being dead hadn't entirely settled in his mind yet. But he had the nagging feeling that things were just okay. He should head back to Blossomcrown and make sure things are okay.
Wildcard
((ooc: Feel free to start something around Blossomcrown. Wukong will just be around.))

Re: Flower Yard
He started to pet through MK's hair, holding him tight. The pain his student was feeling was palpable and Wukong absolutely hated it. He hated the idea that MK would ever regret trying to to do the right thing just because of something he couldn't control.
"You were amazing on the mission. I'm glad you were there."
Re: Flower Yard
"If I hadn't gone, you might have made it out. You would have...gotten back. Did I slow you down? Maybe if I didn't go or get younger...I lost you again...and I feel like it's all my fault!"
Re: Flower Yard
Wukong started to run his fingers through MK's hair, looking up at his flower. MK wasn't wrong though. He shouldn't be able to die. He'd spent so much time making sure it wouldn't happen but it had, just like that.
"It's not your fault that I'm apparently not immortal here, and as much as that scares me, I'm more relieved that you weren't hurt, MK."
Re: Flower Yard
"...You did it for us. I know you did. You saved us and didn't even think twice about it. You died. I-I just...I'm sorry. I couldn't save you back, Monkey King. I'm so sorry." He buried his face in his mentor's chest and sobbed softly.
Re: Flower Yard
Wukong used one of his sleeves to wipe MK's tears and smiled at him. He really felt things just so strongly. It really made him wish he was better at helping MK through them. "You don't have to save me back, Bud. You were here when I got back and you're always here for me. Besides, it's not like you've never saved me before. You've already done it at least three times."
Re: Flower Yard
"Not saving you this time just feels awful. You not being here felt awful. I missed you," He said softly. He leaned more into Monkey King and hugged him tightly.
"You are one of the most important people in my life. I need you to know that. I hope you know that."
Re: Flower Yard
One of the most important people in MK's life...someone MK felt awful not having around. Did he deserve it? Probably not, but he still wanted that so much. He rested his head on MK's shoulder, just focusing on him.
"I know. And I'm not going to forget that. Thanks, MK. For being here."
Re: Flower Yard
Mk didn't want distance.
"U-Unless you get amnesia again," He tried to joke and laughed a little."
Re: Flower Yard
Wukong started to purr, not ready to let MK go either. He was honestly just relieved that his student was physically unharmed, the image of the Jade Emperor still looming in the back of his mind. That could have been so much worse than it had been.
Re: Flower Yard
"I'd stuff your mouth full of peppers and hit you with a rock, if I had to," MK said. Though not too big a rock. Especially if Monkey King could die here. Oh. Oh there was the sorrow again. He clung to Monkey King tighter. The purring helped. He just stayed close with Monkey King, not ready to pull away yet.
Re: Flower Yard
"I'm glad I have you looking out for me."
Re: Flower Yard
Re: Flower Yard
Wukong just held MK close, wanting to reassure him and enjoying how close they could be. He chirped in response and looked down at him. "We're going to have to leave eventually, Bud. But I'm not too keen on doing it riiight now."
Re: Flower Yard
"Just five more minutes?" He asked and snuggled close. Just enough time to make sure this was real. That he wasn't dreaming.
"You should see Macaque. I think he'd be happy to see you. Even if he doesn't admit it."
Re: Flower Yard
The request for five more minutes made him laugh, but the mention of Macaque was sobering.
"He'll find me when he's ready. Even I can't keep track of him if he doesn't want to be found."
Re: Flower Yard
"That makes sense. I just think he'd be glad to see you. You could call him, you know. If he doesn't turn up and is being a stubborn monkey." That was the last push Mk would do. He chirped and just snuggled for that five minutes. Then finally he got up.
"Okay. Let's go home."
Re: Flower Yard
Re: Flower Yard
"Yeah. Just text me when you're on your way, okay?" So I know you're safe.
Re: Flower Yard
Wukong gave him the warmest smile he could manage, meaning it, but still processing. "Thanks again for being here to welcome me back."
